Writer's Block: Words to Live by

What is your favorite quote?

"And this is the only immortality you and I may share, Lolita."

Books That Have Blown My Mind!

Here are a few books that really have blown my mind and I hope that some of you will agree with me and maybe try some out that you haven't before and find some new things to read :D

• Lolita -

This book speaks to me about something that I went through when I was around the protagonists age, and something very similar to what actually happened in the story.

It has a complicated writing style but it is worth the read for sure, more for older readers, around the 17+ Mark.

• The Enemy Series -

This is a British series by Charlie Higson, it is slightly childish but one of my indulgences, after all I'm allowed a bit of light reading after all these philosophy texts I have to read. It's a book about basically a Zombie epidemic that hits all the people over 14 leaving the children to fend for themselves from 'The Grown Ups'.

• 1984 -

A wonderful book that really does give an excellent idea about what life might be like in the future, so maybe not 1984 but 2084? :P

It's quite challenging but the plot draws you in and you can't help but identify with the main character and the theme of love as well as that of surveillance makes the book even more compelling to read.

• The Time Traveller's Wife

'How does it feel to be the one that always leaves?'
'Now you're going and I'm not going to see you for years!'

Some of the most hurtful words that I've ever read in a book, I've not yet finished it but I know I'll be in tears with it because I apply it to my relationship in real life simply because Henry is so like my boyfriend and we have that distance separating us so he always has to leave me...anyway I'm rambling :)

Read these books!!

Writer's Block: Thank You Month

When was the last time you said thank you?

Yesterday, I'm not out of bed yet :P

Anger Monkeys!

Have you ever had that feeling, that feeling where you're so wound up and angry you can't possibly sleep? That's what I'm feeling right now.

Despite everything I've done today and my banging headache I just cannot sleep because I'm simply too angry! Even if you get calm, anything can trigger your brain back into being angry...

I'm lying in bed.
I look at my poster.
'Ooooooh that looks like that guy from this angle...'

There. The link is made and the anger is back. Now besides punching teddies or the persons face, how do you fix that?

Top 50 Harry Potter Moments

I was watching this programme a few days ago and couldn't help but think about how actually rubbish the top moment was on this thing...after all I have so many good moments that could have made the cut!

So here they are :P

• Voldemorts death
• Dobby's 'Dobby never meant to kill, only wound or seriously injure!'
• Molly Weasley's 'Not my daughter you b*tch!'
• When Lucius Malfoy gets owned by Dobby in Chamber of Secrets
• Professor Quirrel's 'TROLL IN THE DUNGEON! TROLL IN THE DUNGEON! Thought you ought to know.'

See! So many winning moments right there :P
All of them better than the number one -.-
Seeing Hogwarts.

Special Occasion Texts

This is just a little pet peeve of mine that I'm really not sure why it happens, maybe I'm a Scrooge or a misery but I really just don't understand why this happens.

Christmas, New Year, Easter...even Birthdays!

You get these texts on your phone from people you don't even know and in my case don't even remember and you then feel obliged to send them one back. Why does this happen? I know for a fact that most of my contacts I don't speak to, so, why on this day would they text me? Why?!

I know they have no intention when I get back to college, or work, to ever begin speaking to me, so is it just a routine thing? 'Oh I've got to wish the masses of redundant people on my contacts 'INSERT HOLIDAY HERE''

Just...makes me wonder why anyone really bothers texting people they don't like, holiday spirit I guess...

Okay, I have a few regrets coming from this year, a few of them being ones that have created a fair bit of bother for me...

I regret ever agreeing to join up with a friend (no longer a friend thankfully) to create a RP site, it ended up in me getting abused, twice, verbally by all of the members and nothing was done by my so called friend.

I regret putting that site before my family and friends at occasion but I'm happy to say that I've rectified that now, after all, we all know what's more important.

I regret not buying a wand from Harry Potter World and buying three tshirts that don't fit.

I regret hiding up in my room like some littler hermit with my tv and my sweets, and deciding that this was more fun than watching my little brother dress up as Woody and run around.

But all these things...all these regrets...they aren't going to happen again. I've learnt from my mistakes, learnt what's important, and this year I'm chasing those things until I can't run anymore...so watch out Woody!

Writer's Block: Don’t look back in anger

Do you have any regrets from this year?
